Here is my Sadness Needle Felting Tutorial!!
Inside Out is such a great movie! This is the first movie we took my daughter to see in the theater, and she did great! We arrived late and I think I missed the first 10 minutes or so, but I still loved the movie. Although Joy is probably the most loved character, for some reason Sadness resonated the most with me. I just think she’s so cute. And sometimes my husband calls me a Debbie Downer. So maybe Sadness suits my personality better than Joy.
After we won a little Sadness doll at the UFO Catcha, I decided to make my own tsum tsum version of Sadness. I was expecting this to be a difficult project, and it ended up being quite easy, except for her face. I wanted to toss this project as a reject but I just decided to try and try again. Eventually I ended up with what you see as my final product in this video… Sadness sans eyebrows and a mouth.
If any of you decide to make this video, I encourage you to play with her facial features and see what works for you. It might require a redo or two. But having your own interpretation of a certain work is all part of being an artist, isn’t it?
Tip: Always try to keep a bit of extra felting wool in each color on hand in each color to correct any mistakes or fix imperfections! If you are working from your stash of felting wool, it shouldn’t be a problem, but when working with a kit, I try to set aside a little bit of each color in the beginning.
Hope you enjoy this tutorial!
