Here’s a quick and easy Halloween needle felting tutorial that I whipped up. It’s a baby Frankenstein needle felting tutorial! This is a quick and easy needle felting tutorial that is perfect for beginner needle felters.
I made Frankenstein’s head a little softer and squishier than I typically do in my videos. Sometimes I get questions about how firm you need to make your base. It really depends. If there are a lot of facial details, I would recommend making your base a little firmer than I did in this video. When you are felting on a lot of details on to your piece, the base might get squished and dented in with a lot of felting on top. When you have a squishy base, you have to use a light hand when adding details or it might get deformed. However, if you don’t have a lot of facial details and plan on using embroidery thread to sew on the mouth and other details, it should be fine to leave your base a little squishier. The difference between an harder and a squisher base might be about 5-10 minutes of felting, however, so its probably better to err on the side of making a firmer base.
